thank you to this image we add all faiths. we know that the cross represents christianity, but america is a country where all faiths are equal. we are not at war with any peaceful religion. in america, anyone can be any religion they want to be, any time. without a foundation of civil liberties, there can be no lasting peace. so many honorable people from all around the world have given their lives, so that we may live our lives without fear, or terror brought on because of our beliefs. one day, the world will be free. it's ok for people to be the way they want to be. free people should be accountable to no one. they should never have to explain their religion, or be told what to think. the image above says it better than any words ever could. the little boy holding the flag represents all religions, all he wants, is to live free, in peace, without oppression. he is holding a flag for all of the free nations in our world, and for those yet to become free. the boy is thoughtful and humble. he speaks softly, and he weeps quietly for us all

conservative citizens are conservative by nature... we tend not to follow the squeaky wheel get's the grease" philosophy. we don't cry foul at every turn of the road. w are not dramatic and complaining, and most importantly we prefer to adhere to the constitution... as written. we believe in our system of government, and we constantly fight to defend our way of life. we know the the constitution will outlast any attempts to reconstruct or change it's meaning, by radical presidents and congresses. we know that the supreme court has the ultimate authority to check and balance those wild attempts by the legislative and executive branches to change and enforce our nation of laws. we already have an excellent foundation in place, and while these two branches seem radical aspirations, we know that they can only sratch the surface of our everlasting and powerful foundation, before they our outed. for these reasons, we are not afraid. we will continue to campaign against the left, it is our sacred duty, we will preserve our civil liberties, and we will constantly maintain the quest of honoring a government of the people, by the people, and for the people of the united states of america
hey!!!....... your trillion dollar shoe laces are untied!!has anyone heard the expression a quadrillion dollars yet?? saving it for the second term? there won't be a second term... once this president and congress are thru shopping...... we may have to put the whitehouse up for sale on ebay...

f* france!!..... by button gwinnette i'm sick of other countries like france, italy and germany and most of europe hiding behind us when things get tough, then turning on us with arrogance and disdain. if it weren't for us, they would be flying the white flag. jack chirac is one of the greatest political assholes in world history, along with this years u.s. congress. what's their problem? i hate that they scorn the very umbrella of freedom that we provide. they cower behind our shield, sponging off of our wealth and our love of, and desire to share freedom. and they get mad when we call them out.
they bask in the easiness of not having to work for and pay for most of their own defense against the monsters of the world. their responsibility for their cushy lifestyle ends at their own border. they flaunt "we have more time off to spend at home with our families than anyone". yeah that's great, why don't we just forget about the rest of the world. why don't WE do that here in the united states. why?... because we don't just think about and care only about ourselves. of all of the countries in the world, it would be easiest for us to be isolationists, but we have a little thing here called social conscience. they have a little thing called condescending attitude for the "less civil than we are, crude americans". in all fairness, it's probably not even most of the people, it's their government. i know it's not the entire population, because they set a bunch of cars on fire every year.
so it's not a perfect place. i remember their ad campaign " let'sfall in love with france again". no, i don't think i will. again? no, for an again there has to be a first time, there wasn't. they had to advertise, because they knew we were sick of their shit, and they need our tourist dollars. i wouldn't go to france if america was under water, and they flew me on a private gulfsteam and put me up in a suite at the l'hotel george v. how dare you look down your noses at us. you don't have to do anything but enjoy your worry free, vacation based lifestyle, freedom doesn't cost you anything beyond your state line. well guess what europe's governments.... you suck.
wait till the terrorist's bring their religious fanatical kiss of death to paris or bern. wait until they tip over the eiffel tower. oh wait.... maybe they won't, because you have never done anything to offend them. because you're france. fine then... open up another bottle of cheap wine with your three hour lunch, bury your heads in the sand while we continue to protect you and the high horse you rode in on. there are lot's of other countries doing the same thing. you could learn a lot from a truly sophisticated and civilized country like the u.k. or isreal or japan. i should say that i do like sarkozy better than his predecessors, so far. we'll see how that goes. and by the way, all of the apologizing for america by president obama? he doesn't speak for at least half of america. we have nothing to apologize for. in fact, the opposite if anything. we are very proud of bringing freedom to oppressed people around the world..... anyway i'm glad chirac is long gone. bubye chirac... you jagoff.
coming next.... no no! ... don't bother us... were switzerland!
update/ this is the first correction or update to an article. i am pleased to announce that i am delighted to say that i think that president sarkosy seems to have broken the mold of arrogance and indifference. he seems like a good guy. i was very impressed to see him show some real backbone at the u n summit (more than our own president, we are embarrased by his performance). he spoke up for what he thought was right...and i admire that... maybe there is a chance that france will share in the quest for freedom and equality amongst all men and women of the developing world, thanks france for electing him. let's just see how it goes.
*********************************************************************setting the tone by dagney taggart... did anyone besides me think that the inauguration was the beginning of the obama legacy program. one hundred and seventy million dollars to inaugurate the new president. couldn't the gloriousness of electing the first black president stand on its' own for say... 100 million dollars? it was too much for me, and i knew then, that this was setting the tone for tax and spend. i was insulted by his first address as president, he blamed the previous administrations for everything, he made it sound as if he would be there to save our nation on the brink of oblivion. he sounded arrogant and conceded as if he would be the very first president to be smart enough to do a good job, all of the others before him were just rubes and incompetent idiots. today, i think he still carries an arrogance and condescending swagger that immediately puts off half the country.
now that some time has passed, i believe that he must be , at least privately humbled, even if he doesn't show it in public. back to the little matter of spending one hundred and seventy million dollars (some of it private) to mark his first half day of work. now, i understand that inaugurations cost a lot of dough, security and whatnot, and we are a great nation and it was a wonderful and historic occasion, but, i still can't get past the insulting nature his writers chose for that day. i think that part of the problem with spending taxpayer money in washington, is that it doesn't mean anything. it's abstract and there is no connection to reality, it's like playing a fast game of monopoly (that's when you just deal out the money and real estate like a deck of cards).
congress spends money like a drunken sailor (and i mean no disrespect to drunken sailors). it flows like a beer tap at a frat party because it doesn't come from anywhere. except it does. it comes from those hard working people that ante up year after year, without complaining too much. only guess what? they have had it. this country was born from the tyranny of fat king george the fifth. the mood of the colonies changed and then there was the united states. now, we already have the united states, and no mother country to rebel against. but a rebellion there is brewing, and it's not going to go away. we don't want and shouldn't legally (constitutionally) be inching towards becoming a socialist country. our forefathers wanted to make sure that we remained a democracy (actually a democratic republic). we are going to have some serious problems if our president and congress don't get that. the machine made me feel all inauguration day long, that we were ushering in another lincoln. let me say this: i knew abraham lincoln abe lincoln was a friend of mine and president obama... sir... you are no abe lincoln.
Benjamin Franklin is famous for his sense of humor. In 1751, he wrote a satirical commentary in his Pennsylvania Gazette suggesting that as a way to thank the Brits for their policy of sending convicted felons to America, American colonists should send rattlesnakes to England.
Three years later, in 1754, he used a snake to illustrate another point. This time not so humorous.
Franklin sketched, carved, and published the first known political cartoon in an American newspaper. It was the image of a snake cut into eight sections. The sections represented the individual colonies and the curves of the snake suggested the coastline. New England was combined into one section as the head of the snake. South Carolina was at the tail. Beneath the snake were the ominous words "Join, or Die."
9/11 we will always remember....... Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: For thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou annointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over.
we at washingtonamerica are taking this day to observe and remember the attacks of 911 we will get back to having fun tomorrow god bless democracy and the united states of america thank you to all of those who helped the victims at the scenes the wa staff
we are just getting warmed up here at washingtonamerica. were all fired up to take on the dems and the growing government as we inch towards socialism on the way to the farm.
by george read staff writer this is the most bizarre american government i've seen in my lifetime. i only just turned fifty. that includes pres. nixon and clinton. i am continually stunned by the arrogance of todays ruling party. speaker "big nancy" pelosi and her tammany hall-like cloakroom daggers experience are just too much to take. how in the world did she get to be speaker of the house. are you kidding !! harry reid?. these people will say anything. they change direction like a flock of birds. out of the gate, they were willing to risk all street credibility trying to sneak-ram through the stimulus bill. nobody knew what it was then, and now they are lost. the bill hasn't done much. people aren't going to fall for "hey, your trillion dollar shoelaces are untied" again. actually... we would, but really, that's it! president obama spent alot of effort to really paint a horrible picture of what shape the county is. i knew then, that it was so they could take the credit for the quick save. thank god he was able to save the usa in just a few months. it will be during the obama administration, that the word quadrillion begins it's run of common usage. hmmm. i saw through his bullshit a couple of years ago. i grew up in chicago, so i knew what style of politics to expect. as we used to say, i saw them coming from a long way off.
i pray to god that the circular irony of another president from illinois leading this country into the second civil war never happens. this time there won't be a clear geographical line. the war won't be about healthcare or jobs or money. it will be the relaxing of security. making things easier for the terrorists. dropping the force field of security we worked so hard for. as this admininistration keeps doing things to weaken our defenses. we draw closer to impending real disasters. we need to challenge when we think it's wrong. we have to rise up against anti u.s. factions like the new york times. enough is enough, let's give the times the silent treatment. if they feel they have the duty to help the enemy. then we the duty to not buy their piece of shit tabloid. they are hiding behind the very protection of the country they hurt. for the love of god. of all papers in all the cities, do you even remember 911? people know that the new york times building was built on land that was taken by eminent domain. it was taken from people whose families and businesses (some there for generations) were driven out, so the new york times (or as i call the benedict arnold gazzette) could help out the enemy. thanks a lot assholes. maybe we can take your fancy new headquarters, by force if necessary, and just give it to the talaban, at least we would know who the enemy is.
or we could just "eminent domain it" into the hands of someone, anyone who could use it for something useful. we are heading in a very dangerous direction if our government doesn't believe that there are so many, many people, in this country, who are conservative by nature. they all proceed with quiet confidence. they show up for work everyday and they pay their taxes. they don't complain that much. don't ever sell short the silent majority. so, there it is...for now, it's the present government and the new york times that i am mad at. there will be lot's more soon. the american people are sick of this government selling and telling them what they are going to do. get off the stage. that's what you can do for us. make us happy
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government article 4 u.s constitution

this guy right here is our all time personal favorite of anyone in the history of the world. he left his mark, sure enough, but was also a real player on the world stage. a true renaissance man. smart funny and kind...he would have done well in any century. comical inventer of "don't tread on me". always a gentleman. thanks for everything ben. we wish you were here now.....![]()
thank you for coming friend..... by ragnar danaskjold
when president bush addressed congress directly after 911, there may have been a hundred people in america that were not in a total state of grief. there are no words to explain the general nature of the mood of this country. when you attack one of us, you attack us all. i think it would be the equivalent of a nuclear bomb going off in europe back in the eighties or nineties. it froze this entire country in it's tracks. frozen...solid... but only for a moment in time. perhaps it was an instant, to reflect, and to burn that moment of forever into our minds. then we were back in motion.
our president did an incredible job of leading us through the darkness. he was strong, we were strong. we were united that day, in a way probably not since pearl harbor. i think that there are people on the left that have tempered the searing memory of the attacks. they forget that the reality of the world holds some pure evil. they wander about whining about being tough on homeland security. they forget that nobody wants to fight, but somebody needs to know how. president bush did an amazing thing in that time, and no one can tell me otherwise. when he addressed the congress that week, it was one of the most profound speeches that i know about. and then he said something that to this day brings me to my knees, he looked at tony blair and said "thank you for coming friend". the prime minister stood in quiet acknowledgment, it was at that moment, that i knew that everything would be alright sometime again, maybe sooner than later.
it was an epiphany for me, a single shining moment of hope, i knew that we were stricken, but we were not defeated. we always have a friend in the u.k. those words were so poignant, here was someone, a leader of another great nation, that was so courageous..... someone else, willing to stand up for what was right, and at the right time. i will never forget that speech by president bush for as long as i live. thank you prime minister blair... thank you for coming friend...... it meant so much to all of america.... in a way you may never know.
we know that bill oreilly and glenn beck and sean hannity can be lunatics. but, they're our lunatics, and we love them. they serve their purpose, in politics...and in life. we believe that they are good people that do what they do as a calling. we support their efforts, they are passionate and consistent.
one of our many objectives with the "washingtonamerica" website is to have fun. this is meant to be an exercise of enlightenment....
there are few rules here... or deadlines... and it don't cost nothin'... so enjoy. contribute if you feel inspired
has our president become trite? he's everywhere all of the time. after he does letterman and leno and the sunday shows (not the one with the biggest ratings). the morning shows. the view, press conferences, quicky spots, town halls, the robert gibbs show drop in .....the only thing left for him to do, is to be a gameshow host. when i was a kid the hallmark of stardom was to be asked to do the carson show over and over and then not do it. then...the holy drop in....there just weren't that many people that could get away with it....bob hope, burt renelds, striesand, a few others...you couldn't get any bigger than that......THAT"S IT!!! i see it now.... i'm sure now that running for and being elected to the presidency..... is an elaborate scheme to land a spot on a network as a quizmaster. they would call it ubiquity!!!. ...it would be like jeopardy....only all of the questions would be about health care.
???????????????????????????????????
???????????????????????????????????????????????????????
remember when ahmadinijag said that they had a cure for aids a few years ago? at columbia college he was asked how homosexuality was viewed in iran...he said... well we don't have that little problem in iran.....this should be an interesting week at the u.n. folks!!

global warming? don't you mean global cooling? by carter braxton of all the pressing issues in the world... president obama picks global warming to talk to the u.n. general assembly about. are you kidding? why don't we just send al gore to the u.n. so he can preach about how he plans to control the weather... and stuff his pockets with cha chinggg $$$ lot's of money, by scaring uneducated people half to death... there are actually people who believe his bullshit. starting with our own president, has everyone lost their mind?... the earth is cooling off... it has been since gore started this crap... there is now a definate general consenses by scientists that global warming is a crock of shit.
**********************
hope and change by stephen hopkins our president of hope and change is quickly changing. his youth and inexperience are becoming his trademark of leftist agenda. if john mccain says something needs to be done militarily... it needs to be done. and the president ignores any rational overview. we are in big trouble folks, in a fisherman's lingo... we need to throw the little ones back. the democrats lust for change is putting us on the road to mayhem. it's not a question of when, but now. now that he is elected and has the job. it's time to buckle down and forget about pleasing the people that voted him to the post.
*********************************** it's time for action.... by Mary Ludwig Hays McCauley benjamin netenyahu is a great man. every time i hear him speak, i am most impressed by his grasp of the "real world". he gets the big picture. he is a leader who is probably facing one of the greatest challenges in political history. he is pretty much having to go it alone, at least in terms of geography. isreal is an island in stormy waters of the middle east. the country is surrounded by governments that want nothing to do with, and in some cases want to completely erase them from earth. in iran's case...they keep saying that their primary objective is to see them annihilated. ahmadinajad, once again repeats that "the holocaust never happened".
talk about lunacy, he and the ayatollah are so removed from reality, that they cannot see that they have lost fundamental control of their increasingly well educated citizens. it's just a matter of time before the revolution rises again, and the people become free. the difference between iran and pre-democracy iraq.... or stone aged north korea, is the command of modern information and communication. the proverbial genie is out of the bottle. once any society has seen or had a taste of technology and information, there is no way they can be suppressed. this is the only desperate trick left in their play book. by repressing their population they are only making things worse for themselves. this last revolt was an incredible missed opportunity, by the american president. he wasn't prepared for, and was too weak to stand up for doing the right thing.
i have said before, that it will be a blemish on the obama legacy, which complements the asterisk next to his name for "elected by acorn, and only a few people can see my birth certificate... just take their word for it". mr. netenyaho demonstrates that he knows, that about eighty percent of iran's population, are worried about the aftermath of a world strike to rid them of nuclear weapons of mass destruction. if isreal strikes iran, will our president look the other way, and abandon the struggling freedom seekers? our president is what we in the music biz call a "poser". he looks great on the stage... he shows many fancy moves, he does everything perfectly, except he never really learned to play his instrument. he's never been "in the studio", and his microphone is turned off, while someone back stage does the singing. as i sit here watching his address to the u.n i can't help but think that he could have as easily just "phoned it in". his speeches are tired cliche' festivals. now is not the time to be ultra liberal with foreign policy.
we live in very dangerous times.... by letting our defensive guard down, we will loose four years of "keeping up with the lunatics". if we let israel down, like we did with iran, we may never have that recipe again.
oreilly sounded pretty silly in his discussion about marijuana with john stossel the other night. ignorance.. but with an attitude.... you can't gereralize about that, anymore than you can say everyone who has a drink is a drug addict it's non toxic and much safer than alcohol. and it's only illegal if you enjoy it! we're afraid that bill has topped out... hit his peak... reached the denumonte... the pendulum starts to swing the other way... oreilly is right alot of the time, but he is rude and obnoxious, with a hot temper. he is just too full of himself and he doesn't make a good example of behavior. he seems holier than thou, dogmatic is passe. if anyone needs to smoke weed it's him. can you imagine, a pleasant and mellow bill oreilly?
and by the way for you anal retentive english language freaks... we put our punctuation marks after the quotes. they do that in england and it makes sense....not to break up the fengshui or flow of the quote . it just makes sense. also we know that we don't use capital letters properly. one reason is that we are trying to save room in cyberspace. another is that when we do use caps it's usually for something special.
vermontropy by ira allen as a vermonter, i am increasingly annoyed and disappointed with our delegation to washington.... thank god at least we have a republican governor in jim douglas , whom i'm liking more and more for his fiscal responsibility (and also whom i think is getting ready for a run at the whitehouse...you heard it here first) the first time i saw bernie sanders was at a stoplight on pearl street in burlington. i did a little bit of a double take which he noticed and gave me a cordial wave and nod, i thought wow... that's the mayor (pretty cool that he drives a shitbox). he was driving a beat up old honda and he seemed to fit right in to what i thought was "the progressive city". he is an unassuming gentleman of righteous proportion. i believe that bernie is one of the main reasons that vermont now has a moniker of social liberalism. vermont is a lovely state which i am proud to call home. when i moved my band from killington to burlington in the mid eighties, it was so exciting to be in a truly progressive city. burlington is an amazing place.
the city is visually stunning as it sits on a big hill that runs down to lake champlain. the university of vermont sits above the lake on a beautiful piece of land donated to the state in the late seventeenth century by ira allen. for the purpose of higher education . it is the fifth oldest university in the nation. when i arrived in the 1980's the city was abuzz with the electricity of art and music and social liberalism. it was an amazing scene of fun and amusement, so much to do.... so little time. phish was getting known, my band "the dogs" was part of that scene i'm happy to say... it is a time i will never forget... playing at sam's and necter rorrise's (nectar is a wonderful guy). nectar's was half bar half restaurant , that served dollar pints of longtrail and a hot turkey sandwich and potatoes the size of homeplate at the ballgame.
i would cross paths with trey at kinko's when we would be picking up our gig posters. he looked at my posters and said..."hey... dogs.... i've written three songs about dogs". and i said "hey... phish.... i wrote a song about phish (the kids at nectar's)". it was a lot of fun. even back then everybody knew that phish had something special. they had a drive and work ethic and discipline that i still shake my head over, they were amazing.... ok ... back to bernie... in the years after we met i got to know him pretty well as congressman. i bartended at the green mountain inn in stowe, he would come in to hang out for awhile. i was not the arch libertarian i am now, but i was growing... even then. we talked about washington and i ask him how he liked it. he had just been elected to go to washington... he smiled and said "it's big and complicated...ask me again in a year". for those of you who haven't had a conversation with him, i can tell you that mr. sanders is incredibly bright and smart, the thing that impressed me most, is what a great listener he is. and he would ponder... then speak his answer.
bernie is definitely not enchanted with the sound of his own voice. the now senator probably knows vermont better than any politician living or dead and i believe that he doesn't have one ounce of bullshit in him.... and we know how rare that is in politics. do i agree with his politics?... decidedly not, but i have such tremendous respect for his ability to communicate and tell the truth. he was always nice to people on the way up. i never liked pat leahy from the start. i think his spin on legislation is arrogant and socialistic. i have never met the man, so i reserve judgement on what type of person he is, and again i do respect his status and the many wonderful things he has done for vermont. he is consistent and i believe that he has great integrity.
that leaves peter welch.. the honorable mr. welch. i spoke with him the first time after i was rear ended by a casella garbage barge (fully loaded semi truck headed for st johnsberry) in johnson in nineteen ninety nine. the interesting part of the story is that it was the very day that jim carey was filming the movie "me myself and irene" (which actually turn out to be a pretty shitty flick). they had closed down my road (the hog back from waterville to johnson and i had to take a different road to get to johnson. that put me on route fifteen which is a notorious and dangerous road. at the time peter was still lawyering so i called him for some advice. he heard my story and said with the jim carrey thing...it sounded like a conspiracy. we laughed and chatted for a while and i hung up the phone thinking that he was a smart and good guy. the congressman was the president pro temp ore of the vermont senate. he did an excellent job and it's no surprise that he was elected to the u.s. house. i wasn't going to talk about howard dean, but he continues to be a player on the national stage. i had a chance to hang out with the governor on a few occasions, once on a day of skiing, i had the honor of skiing around the day with dennis, his chief of security, who was an excellent skier. jaypeak has some of the most difficult terrain in the business. jay peak, thanks to bill stenger (a genius of resort development), has led the world in off trail trails, or what we locals call "skiing the woods". dennis was an awesome skier, and i wouldn't have been able to shake him if i tried.
the governor is also an excellent skier, and you can't call yourself a vermonter until you witness the governor skiing down the hilll carrying a bucket full of maple sap in each hand. right after the montgomery flood of '97. i met him on the steps of my friend rob's video store on main street. he did a wcax remote report from there. after the interview we talked for awhile, he ask a lot of good questions and i saw how really bright and articulate he was, and i was glad he was governor (again with the doctor thing).
i think by now you are getting a sense that i don't much like lawyers or politicians . and most of the folks in congress are both (to borrow a line from preston tucker). there was a bit of controversy about the governors comprehensive scope of the magnitude of the destruction caused by the flood. here's a true story... my friend rob (who is one of the smartest and quickest people i know) said as the governor was leaving.. i think that we'll survive, and the town businesses will recover.... but...i have noticed that rentals of disaster movies have dropped off sharply. hodean thought that was pretty funny, we all laughed. he came back the following day and really dug into the nitty grittiness of the disaster. i met up with him again on main street, this time i was carrying a mop and bucket that i had brought for one for my friends. we walked and talked for awhile, i was particularly impressed because he remembered my name. he thanked me for helping out. the second visit he got it right. the town was devastated...blown bridges... houses flattened or ruined. it was epic..... the residents were happier about his second appearance. i should also mention that rob granted everyone who had a movie rented out would be granted full and complete rental amnesty for late and damaged videos. i think that speaks to the niceness of a small town society.
when dean first ran for president (and i think he's always getting ready to again) i saw what i thought was the beginning of a brilliant campaign. he knew the internet and how to use it. when i heard his speech that contained the phrase......"we can do better" with the inflection and rising tonality on the word better..... it made the hair on the back of my neck stand right up...... i thought, "this guy really has something here". this is real grass roots with the essential communication skill to connect with america, and take the whitehouse. the rest is history, it ended with the hockey scream, and that wasn't even his fault. it was simply a fluke of the sound system and the recording of the event. bad luck took him out.
ok... so if i have such nice things to say about all of these political heavyweights, then why am i upset and annoyed at vermont's delegation? it's very simple. the u.s. constitution is set up so that it mostly reflected the wishes and founding concept of what their government should do. there is "laissez faire" or hands off approach to their philosophy. they are all anti capitalistic. they believe that the government should take care of jack and jill america from cradle to grave... that the government role is to make the benefits and spoils of living here equal to all citizens. when i was bartending many years ago, i once worked at a restaurant that had what is called a poolhouse tipping system. it's when all of the tips from all of the servers are pooled together, then divided equally. the pluses of this type of arrangement are such that, if someone delivers excellent service, they may still get stiffed, and they will still make some money.... the problem is this; there are always one or two people on staff that realise that they don't have to work as hard, and still collect, because they will be carried by the group.
one particular girl (there are just as many or more guys who do this) comes to mind, her name was sandy, she came late everyday, she chatted while others worked, and when it came to dealing with the customers, she was lazy and rude and inattentive. she moved at the speed of snail. "slow loris sandy" went home with the same dough as the rest of the wait staff. i was the bartender and the rule didn't effect me.... but i could see that the best servers were getting stiffed, not from the customers, but from the establishment. i spoke up and said this was wrong and it was communism. the thing that really surprised me was the fact that this subject had never been broached before. now it was, and there was a vote, and the system changed, so everybody was on their own. the shining stars made the money they worked for, sandy got fired for incompetence, and i was pleased to no end for righting a wrong system. this is a great analogy, because it represents the poolhouse society that the democrats are trying to scare people into. socialism isn't wrong, but it's wrong for this country... it's not what the constitution is about and the ones trying to make it so are going to lose the fight. the designers of our government were more brilliant then today's politicians in their vision... even the ones from my beloved vermont.

kelo vs. the city of new london: this is the beginning of the end of america as we know it. the framers of the constitution would be sickened. what would they think of a government, their government, that steals property from it's citizens, then handing it over to the new york times, a private company that has committed treason. the american dream of working hard to own home or a business, taken away... benedict arnold would be happy, along with america hating terrorists, that's about it. the supreme court, like the new york times, sticking a knife in it's own country's back
Dissenting opinions
On June 25, 2005, Justice Sandra Day O'Connor wrote the principal dissent, joined by Chief Justice William Rehnquist, Justice Antonin Scalia and Justice Clarence Thomas. The dissenting opinion suggested that the use of this taking power in a reverse Robin Hood fashion— take from the poor, give to the rich— would become the norm, not the exception:
| Any property may now be taken for the benefit of another private party, but the fallout from this decision will not be random. The beneficiaries are likely to be those citizens with disproportionate influence and power in the political process, including large corporations and development firms. |
She argued that the decision eliminates "any distinction between private and public use of property — and thereby effectively delete[s] the words 'for public use' from the Takings Clause of the Fifth Amendment." 125 S.Ct. 2655, 2671
