oh inflation....

it's easy to blame congress:

i like coal !

it's been my policy not to mention pundents by name in the saturated world of america's politics. i also try to move around the dial and listen to what everyone has to say. i should also say that mostly i watch the fox channel, and take my news from other sources as well, such as the wall street journal.

warning about sudden and significant changes in elected government and the new house of representatives.
shall we dance???
message to the people by scott e.
when i started washingtonamerica.com it was because i was lucky enough to to get such a strong web address, it kind of fell into my lap. it's an amazing brand name and it's significience isn't lost on me. when we started a year ago october, i had a sinking sick feeling of where i thought this country may be headed, and i was alarmed.
now that our congress has "leveled" itself, and the president obama is moving toward the center, we will too.
finally, after a couple of years of congressional chaos (mostly fiscal), we are beginning to see wonderful signs of leadership, that includes everyone, not just the left.
there was too big of a temptation to ignore the conservative branch of the government, as we have said many times, obama and pelosi and reid were drunk with power, and history will show that.
so we will continue to be a stream of consciousness and place for conservative political observations. our new years resolution is to be funnier. there is no more fertile ground for humor than the american political arena. we're trying to be more like ben franklin, than like william f. buckley.
with elections coming up, we're excited to see if the people were pleased with the pendulum of politcs swinging the other way. will the people move to a more conservative stance ? will they reelect the status quo? will the government we have now prove to be a failed experiment in socialism?
so that's it. this is a place to come to to relax, read a few news stories, perhaps have a few laughs at ourselves. no advertisments for now, we'll never have popups because they are distracting and obnoxious and they suck.
we're open to suggestions and we'll post anyone's opinion as long as it's clean constructive. this site really belongs to the american people, and we'll try not to forget that as we grow. we want this site to be a crossroads where video, music and politics all meet the america road.
thanks to you all,
scott erlandson, editor

american taxpayers should spend their money much more wisely than their government can .
what kind of religion would provide for people to blow themselves up, and take innocent men women and children with them ?
maybe that's where we should start looking for solutions.

one of the year's most important stories was the jan brewer versus the u.s. government, about whether or not the borders are secure. there's a question of if even should be. janet napolitano comes out periodically and says they are secure and safe, that everything is fine, then there are a lot more murders and crime sprees.
this ties in directly with the dream act which is a terrible idea, that has been defeated, because we're not ready for it. immigration reform doesn't mean capitulation. maybe maybe the dream act could work, but only after the mexico border is sufficiently managed. mexico is getting so much better because for the first time i can remember, they are actually doing something about their corrupted culture.
it's not fair to put people ahead in the line to become an american citizen. i'm not too wild about the idea of trading citizenship for military service like they do in socialist countries.
but governor jan brewer is a hero in our eyes, for not just rolling over for our leftist government experiment. she continues to stand up for what's right. we can't secure our borders for a reason that has only to do with politics, and not because of technology or funding or any other tangible or concrete reason. our government has let us down so much with their trappings of liberal hypocritical socialism.
they won't secure the borders and they want to give away citizenship to secure the next vote.
our government is giant and ineffective and quite lame, it's making it's own citizens sick.
nothing will ever change until we start to make the government smaller and less powerful.
the end of the 111th congress marks one of the lowest points in american government history. the legislation they passed/forced is useless and trophylike. they will parade around and give each other great credit, but their accomplishments are a joke. well maybe not a joke, for a "quite lame" duck congress, they moved the ball more in the last three weeks, than in the first two years, whatever that means.
there's a lot to do and pelosi's out.
like the obama campaign, it's a lot of ringing hollow disingenuous fakery, designed to move the country in a direction far different from the founding fathers original idea of perfect liberty.
somehow we'll get back to it, the change we need will come too slowly, but it will happen, and when it does, it will be because of people like governor brewer, and other brave conservative americans who never give up.

now that president clinton is back in the whitehouse, we thought it would be a good time to have a look at the clinton presidency, the era, and the world while he was president.
the clinton economy and the great depression
by tadd basha
how were the economy and unemployment under clinton ? clinton enthusiasts view the man as sort of a hero. i think he had an easy time during his presidency, and he squandered it on sex antics. he was sort a one term president. what little gems are there for the "president that left a huge surplus and the world in perfect working order, as he handed off to president bush" ?
over and over we hear today's president say "we have saved america from the greatest economic crisis since the great depression", or at least it was implied.
there are a couple of things that set us apart from the great depression. bank runs and monetary policy. today's president says "on one hand, we are in the worst recession since the great depression"; while on the other passing massive spending bills, much of it wasted.
we live in a country where the politicians never talk about poor people. only about taking money from the successful wealthy to give to the middle class.
back to this clinton surplus thing. clinton was president during the internet boom. so much money was paid into social security because of huge incomes. by law it must be applied to the deficit. then the bubble broke in march of 2001, then 911 happened.
i think clinton could have done a better job with osama bid laden, but he was too busy being impeached.
the surplus is a myth. the deficit is a made up number because our system collects the money and spends it before any work gets done.
suppose you said "i think i'll spend five thousand this week, even though i will only make one thousand". well i need five so i'll just tell my employer that i'll be taking five thou this week cause that's what i've already spent.
the worst economy since the great depression was during the carter years, and he's running around too, spouting and looking like an ex presidential fool.
clinton got awfully lucky, it was president bush that was handed off some of the biggest challenges, in american history, for which he did a tremendous job.
clinton got lucky, but we may never know for sure because of sandy berger's pants. you won't read a piece like this in the new york times. LOL
there's a lot more to this, and we'll be adding to it as we go along, because so much of what the liberals and democrats say is total bullshit. the fact they they keep repeating it over and over and... doesn't make it true.
and besides, now people can just "google it' to find the truth. that's another something that's different between now and the greatest depression since, the real and only great depression. that's why we started washingtonamerica.com

i just heard the president say "this is no time to play games" and "there will be plenty of time for campaigning". this is a rich example of both humor and irony.
however, something we can not ignore, is the tremendous fortitude of president obama. you've got to hand it to him for being fearless about who thinks what. if he is willing to sack his own popularity, so be it. is this sleeping giant coming alive ? this is a great example of political courage and we admire that ! we're seeing something different here and we like it. it appears as if our mr. president may be a second half player. that would be awesome.

this is a cause we support. it could be the beginning of tort reform in the healthcare arena, and the end of lawyers forever in america...
hey...
i'd pay twenty bucks just to get rid of one....

.
socialism's many facets
international:
it's a victory for america..... intellectual bravery
our most awesome united states supreme court has a very difficult job to do. we can only trust in the quality of the their education and experience, as they opine their judgements. when a student of the law reaches a certain level of expertise and career, i like to think that they are trained to think only about the law.
"above reproach" is the standard we put our faith in. we have a system that works because, someone has decision making talent, as they render the last word.
the case of the westboro hate group represents the most sublime difficulty there can be in judging the law. i can't imagine a harder or more emotional call to make. only did samuel alito break from the group of supremes, as if to say, we know this hurt's folks; but what comes with liberty, is the reality of what we do. we make out decisions according to how we interpret this case, the facts of the case, and the law of the land.
why samuel alito, isn't he a conservative justice?
perhaps he saw something that the others didn't, or they did, but, in the end, decided to not dissent.
this is not a victory for the westboro haters, it is an affirmation that our constitution guarantees americans to free speech.
as monstrous as they are, they are the precedent. it's hard to imagine anything so low as what they do.
on the bright side, privately, good people are protecting the mourners, that lost a child while defending liberty.
they will continue to do so while we wait for the westboro "church" to blow up accidentally... somehow.
the supreme courts decision stands, even if we don't like it. we hate it because it goes against common decency and appropriate societal behavior. to me what they do is a hate crime, this case will be back sometime, as soon as another hate group figures out how to up the ante on nasty and cruel, to their fellow countryman.
we need fo remember that this is a tiny group of seemingly inbred psychotics, their only tools are hate, shock, being insidious, and attention seeking. pay them no attention, accept that we will bury them in a blanket by people who are decent and kind. like the wicked witch of the west, they have no power here.
in the mean time, the supreme court did a good job.

he looks like a ghoul, because he is a ghoul. why do the monsters all end up looking so bazaar? al-qaddafi has the twisted features of all of his years of butchery and creating chaos for his country, and the world.
we are hoping that the president obama was waiting for the american expats to make their escape, then do something tremendous. we can go right in and pick him up for war crimes pending. but that won't happen, it's too extreme a move for us to make now. but if he can't come out against someone of gaddafi's murderous magnitude, then he's right back to iran '09. it must be difficult for the president to do the right thing, but only he knows what he knows, and we need to trust his judgement. one thing i've noticed is the heavyweight commentators seem more divided then normal. the middle east is at a unique crossroads. it's not that often when all of the planets line up. i hope we as america are very overt in our appreciation for the momentum happening now. president obama has done well with egypt. i figure the middle east is about halfway through this campaign. libya will kill qaddafi, then things will settle down a bit.
but watch iran, because it is the magic of this well informed society, that is so perfectly poised for freedom, that i await. they will overthrow the brutal regime of ahmadinejad and the ayatollah from hell.

i feel slighted and ripped off because the news channels are spending too much time on this wisconsin union bullshit, instead of more coverage of the blooming democracies in the middle east. that's a far more interesting story than a bunch of whining babies greedy for more. i want to see gadaffi executed on t.v. just so i know he's dead. the video of saddam being snuffed out was a little gross, but it brought so much relief to iraq, it was worth it. gadafi is a monster that needs to be slain. no less than the future of the world is a stake these days. it seems as if in the last couple of years, the monstrous dictators are gaining momentum. chavez is a pig and i'll be glad when he drops dead.
the entire planet is modern enough that everybody on it can be free. once people are aware that liberty exists, humans are drawn to it naturally. assholes like gadafi and chavez won't be able to oppress their people much longer. again, we in the free world have plenty of problems, but turning our resources over to a lunatic dictator isn't one of them.(although some may argue that point).
so get off the stage wisconsin and unions, the teachers union has passed it's usefulness and worn out it's welcome. people are sick of hearing about your relatively minor selfish problems. wake up, there are people suffering, while you grub for more. the timing of all of this couldn't be worse. so shut the hell up and go back to work before your own people fire your collective bargaining asses. nobody cares anymore, deal with it, i'd rather watch world freedom being born, than listen to your trite little saga.
![]()
kill gadaffi now !!!
stamp this butcher out, squash him like a bug. let's lberate the world from yet another of a long line of batshit crazy lunatic dictators.
where are the charismatic leaders for all of these budding new democracies ?
you're going down madman... lunatic...
ahmadinejad must go now !!!
we continue to be very pleased with the president obama's response to uprising democracies. to us, he is doing everything right with respect to iran, his comments are timely and appropriate. we don't know where it's coming from but we like it.
ok iran... it's your turn...
this time is the charm....
america wants so much for iran to break the brutal chains of ahmadinejad and the ayatollah. they are the modern day snakes of evil doing. they only care about their own egos, while they let their own people suffer. in the end civil democracy will triumph over oppression and the lies they live. the proverbial cat is out of the bag now. they know now how good life can be.
they know how because of internet social networking. the greatest tool in the fight for democracy, is the communication and discussion between the masses.
they have always had a common cause, now they can have a common voice. so when you put the two together; the yearning for liberty and organisation efficiency provided by facebook and twitter, the conditions are perfect for an overthrow of a nasty government. just like the nazis, the tyrants of the middle east, can never find and burn all of the books, because now the books are virtual, and digital and unextinguishable, the message of truth is forever.
i'm sure that one of the centerpieces of what modern thinking humans desire, is the proper treatment by a society of it's woman. women are equal to or far superior to men in every way. it is astonishing that even with the tenacity of ancient laws and customs, that exists today, some cultures continue to consider woman to be second class citizens.
once everyone in the world knows the truth, that woman are, and always will be treated as equal, and never subservient, the archaic practitioners of that culture will fall. the women will rise up to the equal stature they so richly deserve.
in america, we choose to celebrate all people as equal. this is the essence of democracy. the rest of the world will catch up. people now realise that, freedom is about choice. so we hope and pray that iran will topple the vile dictators, then elect new leaders. there are enough people in the streets now to make this happen, it's not a question of if but when.
it will be fun to watch ahmadinejad flee the country, bubbye tyrant. your people say "we will be free, in our choice of leaders, our pick of religion, and for being born female, now hear us roar".
national multi cultures have failed ?
europe says that multiculturalism has failed. are U kidding ?? that's what this country is built from.
AFTER EGYPT you and your dirtbag boss are theocratic losers, watch your back cause your people say "your next".
these are the most frightened little weenies on our planet are these guys. akmawackojag and the i atolla you so... because they know the the sunami of democracy is coming their way. they have always known that the people of iran will never settle for less than perfect freedom. they see that americans are free to move around and do as we please. they have tasted and enjoyed the trappings of a free economy, free communications and some fun consumer products and convienience of life. we work hard, and we still have problems, but we treat our citizens with respect. everyone has an oppurtunity to succeed. we have a system that works, and the whole world is watching as egypt frees the chains of oppression. we may have uberegotistical lunatic leaders from time to time, but we're not oppressed or denied liberty. and we vote, vote vote.
60 minutes.
(or so)
i saw the sixty minutes interview with julian assange and i still wish him dead. the son of a bitch thinks he's some sort of damn folk hero. it's pretty clear cut that he's on the other side from us. give aid to our enemies? just cause the new york times (a true traitor to it's own country) sells us out, regularly, it doesn't make it right for anyone.
this is war. in this country we defend our liberty with anything we've got ! and we have a little thing called loyalty, something assange knows nothing about, since he has no country. when suggested that he become a martyr he said "not yet, lets's keep it that way". let's not.
this is the face of common sense ladies and gentleman...
though it may not seem like that significant of a change, but it is monumental. speaker boehner is the political/policy opposite of former speaker pelosi. the brakes have been applied, the engine of america's demise has been throttled way back. the financial destructiveness of wasteful spending and greasing your friends is over, talk about taking the keys from the drunk driver.
now, it's as if the u.s. house of representatives, by the will of their constituents, have had their sputnik moment.
mr. boehner said sunday morning that we will raise the debt ceiling, if the president cuts the credit cards into pieces. that seem like a fair deal for the unborn children who will actually carry the debt. this is what i mean by common sense. pelosi, reid and obama were the perfect storm of capital cronyism and waste, their hope and change based on archaic economic theory, instead of logic and math. too much control landed them into trouble with the voters.
let's give this financial recovery thing a try, i really liked paul ryan's short, focused remarks on what's going to happen.
even the most ardent liberals are breathing a huge collective sigh of relief, because the renegade captain of the spending team obama, and his followers have been stopped. we have said it before, america is not a socialist nation because we do want to be. it's that simple, now let's move on.
![]()
the new egypt will be more fun...Egypt is a far more interesting story by far, over the dreary lackluster details of money and debt and crazy spending. this is the exciting expectation of people not settling for anything less than perfect liberty. the prospect of a new democracy on earth is exciting beyond belief. the egyptians are fine cultured people, i have enjoyed the pop up rallies around america. it's an expression of solidarity, it adds to the credence of what's about to come. we're seeing it all over the world.
this is the information era and the whole world is watching. we have to give president obama high marks for his restrain. hopefully he learned from the iran revolution from a year and a half ago.
don't be surprised to see other attempts at freedom and democracy around the world. this is as good as it gets. one day the old governments that oppress and disrespect their own citizens will be extinct
"the state of our union is somewhat vague, much like our space program, we'll have to wait for a ride from the russians".
we need to have a lot more empty (feel good because we're great and we really know what we're doing) campaign speeches so our leaders can be enchanted with the sound of their own voices. we can feel a sputnik moment coming on...
this is so far from making sense coming from an american president. we want to be like the soviet union was in the fifties? even i know that's not cool, i don't think that moves us forward. perhaps it's time for some new speech writers, or something...
so much for civility...
it didn't even last a week. if there is anyone out there that thought the campaign rally in tucson would change the "tone" or civil nature of our discourse, you can stay in line and be naive. there are already members in the house fighting to be alan grayson (cohen weiner etc.) and carry the flag of hysterical liberal mania, it's an act that is getting so old and familiar. the speech and crass show in tucson helped the president's approval ratings, that's about it. as usual i wasn't fooled. die quickly.
so let's change the subject. i like what the president obama said to the chinese about human rights, free speech and peaceful assembly. and i liked the president hu's response, the elephant in the room is somewhat acknowledged. will anything come of it? it's doubtful, but the current chinese leader seems to be alert and more present to the era. i hope we are moving beyond the last of the marxist trained communists. i don't know why the calling him a dictator was walked back, he is exactly that. these types of meetings pretty much stand on ceremony, and that's fine, we need to listen to people who are successful at business, like donald trump. the chinese are cleaning our economic clock and laughing about it, sort of against the grain of what america has always stood for. liberal foreign policy continues to give away the farm in the dim hope of "making friends" with the dictators, and the america haters, two terms of this may hurt us beyond repair.
he's an egyptian...
and now it's egypt's turn to be in the world spotlight to advance the cause of modern freedom.
what's the first clue? the egyptian government shut down any type of communication, they are trying to keep massive protests in their streets a secret. all of the devices for spreading news to the world have been summarily squelched. if you think about it, that silence sends a more poignant message to the free world. it never works. instead, it only makes the cause of freedom stronger. it's a typical response to trying to hide the truth. perhaps this will inspire iran to follow suit. we are pleased that our president obama has called for democracy and peace in the region. it's the least he can do, but at least he's done that. unfortunately he missed the opportunity with iran, but he was just learning the job. we know that as americans, we have come to expect the call from our high elected leaders. if america can't stand against oppression, then what have we fought for, for all of these generations. we have never given up, and we will defend the human rights to a better life around the world.

hu ?
just ask the donald... ASK donald trump about the desparity between china and america when it comes to a level business playing field. twenty five percent tax on chineese imports he says.
as usual we hold the power. we hear about the concerns of china holding so much of our debt. if we stopped buying their products, many of which we don't even need, they would be screwed. so they need us at least as much as we need them.
that's a good enough reason why donald trump should be president. just for sayig that
we need to repeal the bill so we can see whats in it...
when the democrats rammed through the healthcare bill, it was going to be the crowning jewel of the 111th congress and the president of obama. now, when the rest of the people want to repeal the bill so we can see what's in it, it's a "waste of time". is that unamerican, to wish to be part of a process from which they were so arrogantly shut out? isn't the waste of time the misuse of a democrat monopoly to legislate past the will of the american people, the people they were elected to represent? if it was such a great idea adorned by all, then why isn't nancy pelosi the speaker of the house ?
why all of the sudden in the aftermath of a great tragedy is there a sudden call for "civil discourse"? what did we have before?
i heard that asshole chris matthews say that "palin had gabby giffords in her gunsights". is it a surveyors symbol or not? was that same symbol used in a democrat message before that? is the democrat agenda unfairly advanced by the media or not? can the media switch the truth on and off to suit their own needs, as is done so often by the new york times and every media outlet except for fox news? why is fox so far ahead of the others in ratings? is it fair for the president to drop into the common trenches of dirty politics and deceit and misrepresentation, then suddenly take an opportunity to "rise above it all" claiming that righteousness for himself?
this country was conceived by lot's of people asking the right questions. we should never follow our "leaders" like sheep. i'll have some more questions to contemplate for tomorrow. trust is a special thing, and like truth, it cannot simply be turned on and off because of the events of a day.
you can fool some of the people all of the time, and you may fool all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time. i think some people are tired of being fooled. some of us saw through the bullshit before the 08 election, and the rest remain a mystery.
we don't have the technology:
by reggie sandburg
the united states can't secure the mexico border because we don't have the technology, how's that for progress? what a great message we send to the world. we put men on the moon and brought them safely home but our nearest neighbor has a porous entry. good thing we don't border north korea or iran. it's easier for janet napolitano to come out with the president periodically and just say the borders are safe and secure. america doesn't have the ability to control it's own borders, wow that makes me feel good and proud. this in addition to letting iran get the bomb instead of us helping that oppressed theocracy to become free. what else can we do to help the world become more chaotic? let's let china continue to roll over us and laugh about it while they take us over as the world's economic leader. does china have secure borders? is it because of technology? let's jut trust and help karzai, while he takes bags of cash from iran while he mocks us. when the democrats said that bush was just sending mercenaries to iraq, are they still mercenaries when obama sends them to afghanastan, the "good war"?
what happened to the sense of urgency to try the enemy combatants and close down guantanamo? why is all of it so bad under bush, and so great under obama.
as we approach the next presidential election cycle are people going to buy into the false prophecy of hope and change again ? i'm not going to stop standing up for what i believe the constitution says and what it means. i don't have to go along with the push for a more socialistic mechanism, because some people think we should be more like european countries. i don't want my country to be anything but a democratic republic. i think that's what the founding fathers wanted. if we strive towards spreading the wealth and not having enough technology to protect ourselves is that the "progress" the progressives so eagerly tout. not on my watch mister. perhaps the country will blame bush enough to get their obama elected twice. i will continue to point out why i think the obama pelosi reid agenda isn't right for the u.s.a. outing "big nancy" was a good start.
so, we can't secure our borders because we don't have the money or the technology to secure the border ? i suggest you all think hard about that and contemplate what exactly it means, but i'm sure it can't be good.
i'm not sorry that i don't feel compelled to fall in line behind our president after another flowery self promoting speech. the undignified event of last week leaves me skeptical and wondering. just as his style of foreign policy did not reel in and "make friends" with the world's rogue states, people aren't going to suddenly be nice when addressing the issues of governing a nation, or each other. i'm leery because of the many speeches he has given before, i don't really believe a word he says.
i don't have to. a long string of broken promises and ideological agendas being forced upon people that don't want it. i am glad that he has kept a lot of the bush policies, the surge, secretary gates, guantanamo, bush tax cuts etc. i'm glad that the house has been forced to stop the spending and general economic madness of the pelosi .
we can't run around after a tragedy and put kneejerk band aids on a free society. lone assassins and mental illness are going to exist in a nation of 300 million.
the events of arizona aren't going to change the way we get things done. i wasn't impressed by the president's speech because i know the people he is speaking of, will be just as nasty and partisan as ever in about a week. the address was in the presentation form of a campaign speech. i feel as if this president has never stopped campaigning or working on his own legacy. i still believe that he is a narcissist and a poser and it frightens me how easily he is able to distract and fool his flock. i don't see the greatness in him yet and i don't enjoy his style. we'll see if he reverts back to slamming the other side. we'll see if he stays in campaign mode. he is one guy and our country has a beautiful constitution. even if he wins a second term i don't have to be mesmerized or wooed by a speech. i don't appreciated the press touting his approval ratings having gone up the day after. the circus memorial became all about barrak obama, transparency is a two way street, i can see right through him as i did before he was elected, and if i end up bing the only one, so be it.
i'm concerned that the democrats are shocked that there are a great many people that want to have a second, or first look at health care. the truth, it sounds like, is that the bill doesn't have all the things that were promised by the big three, obama reid and pelosi. there may be some shortcomings or false representations. the bill wasn't discussed or passed in an atmosphere of transparency, very much the opposite in some ways, like secret meetings and strict partisan fashion. so why can't we change it, now that it seems that a lot of the health bill is based on lies.
2. i have refrained from writing about the circuslike memorial event of the other night. i felt kind of cheated, the show seemed more about president obama and his approval ratings. any criticisms would be construed as cynical, but i thought the whole "production' was a pep rally for the advancement of ideological agenda. i've never been to a memorial service at an arena with catcalls booing and outbursts of cheering and applause, so maybe i don't know. i was let down by the rowdy campaign like observance of those horrible events. we'll see how long the effects of "his great speech last, i guess, to me it seemed phony and insincere, and contrived, considering what happened in tucson. i don't like to mention specific members of the press, but i see hypocrisy in blaming others for the very acts they commit. i wish the job of governing the country was less like show business and more like governing. as for healer in chief ? let's see if his flock walks the walk, so far i haven't seen it.
as much as i delight the press devouring each other, because most of them suck, i've decided to rise above the nastiness
and not point out who's freeloading on our national tragedy.
you know who they are. don't worry it will pass and they will go back to their regular bullshit.
it's all part of the process in america. in washington, it's politics as usual, and the beat goes on.
where's global warming???

winter H.Q. for washamericom and vermontropy (i do feel a little guilty, but i think i'll get over it) one great thing for my extensive liberal audience (yeah right) is the benifit that i will only leave the island once a week, so i won't be posting everyday.
so enjoy my vacation, because when i get back to washington, i'll be kicking on your liberal asses everyday, i don't care who is in the whitehouse or congress.
i'm back on my favorite island for a couple of months, and i am quickly reminded of how many dear friends i have that are true liberals.
one of the great things about being american is to be able to befriend people at the opposite end of my political spectrum. when the government changes after an election, it's always a smooth process. i'm not so narrow minded as to be a straight republican (or libertarian). the are so many democrats and moderates that i like better than some of my own party. i truly believe that we all want the same thing at the beginning of the day. some conservatives (like me) are sometimes painted as insensitive or uncaring for the poor and those who need help. i/we are compassionate, we just have different ideas on how to get there. i wouldn't trade even my most liberal friends for all the tea in china. if i did , i wouldn't have anything to do all day. i get along beautifully with my liberal pals, we can always have a civil discourse, and enjoy some laughs. it is the forum of banter that sets us free from the tyranny of the world. we are always guilty of wanting to share freedom and liberty with the rest of the world, and that's both the why and how. god i love this country.

this guy again... just signed a million dollar deal to tell his story. suggested working titles for the book are "enemy america" and "life on the run". if his rape charges don't stick he can always rely on espionage, and being the (our) u.s. 's enemy combatant.
either way, we are sure that
from now on, he'll be looking over his shoulder, or he'll be dead.
this benedick has no future. that's what happens when you help our enemy, just ask the new york times, treason comes with a heavy price.
freedom of press ? tell that to the mother of a dead u.s. soldier...
don't ask don't tell goes by the way of repeal, and the will of the people. has the decision ignored or bypassed the will of the combat troops, say in the marines, or special forces ? we're not convinced that it isn't a form of political correctness foisted upon an already well working operation. there is plenty of room for gays in the military, where they are welcomed by their colleagues.
why did the liberals in the government listen to "the people" about gays in the military, but not about spending, healthcare and homeland security ? in a time where people are desperate to show their tolerance, and ability to bend over backwards to be politically correct, are we rushing to judgement ?
does the gay community represent enough of the population to command such demand ? i don't think we have seen the end of this issue with respect to decisions made "at street level". there may be an area that warrants further discussion and input from those who are doing the fighting. it may be a distraction.
who knows maybe it will all work out, but for now, it seems a "bit forced" and perhaps premature. they may be very little effect or fallout, that would be best, but we had to raise the question.
earmarks:
i can't believe it, but i just called senator leahy's office, a very nice woman answered in person. i told her that i was scott e. from washingtonamerica.com, that i would like to request for senator leahy to vote against anything with earmarks.
i'm stunned, but i was able to reach senator sander's office and vermont's only representative to congress, peter welch.
for all three i was greeted very nicely within a couple of rings. i left messages with very pleasant and smart sounding office personnel.
i am absolutely amazed that i was able to get through, this is a great country !!
so, i'm sure that this will be the end of the earmarks in washington, america...

congress gone wild..

we're sure this is the worst, most potentially dangerous government we've had since the days of "boss tweed".
a perfect storm of liberalism and socialistic aspirations. the american tax dollar is flowing the wrong way. it's the principle, it's the money.

maybe the united states is in for a good old fashioned tax revolt. people would put their tax money into escrow, the government has to wait to spend the money until the courts decide.
life in america is fastly becoming "the people against the government".
maybe our government will be overthrown like in a third world country. riots in the streets because the democrat government wasted so much of the people's hard earned money
we're against sedition.
we choose our destiny, we change through vote
with the state of the union address coming up next month, we'll be anxious to see if supreme court members attend, after being so insulted by the president last year.
dirtbag julian assange is on the run again from rape charges by two women.
